30 Day Blog Challenge-Day 1

It has been a REALLY long time since I have blogged! Before Kinley was born I did a great job with keeping up with The Stinson Family blog but since she was born life has been turned upside down. I just logged on for the first time in over a month to see the last post was of her three month pictures! With this blog I did a really good job when I decided to get back on the horse with my weight loss but again that has been put to the side with everything that is going on in my life. With all that being said, there is a blog that I read every time she post and that is the Lite and Fit blog .Amy is one of my sorority sister from my Emporia State Alpha Sigma Alpha. She is a great inspiration to me and and all around a person who I one day aspire to be like. Anyway, Amy posted to her blog from another blog Katie's Journey about a 30 day blog challenge. This was suppose to start on 10-10-10 but I just found it the other day so I am starting today. 10-15-10. This might be a little challenging with Homecoming next week but just like weight loss if you commit to something and make it a priority then you will succeed. So here is my shot at the 30 Day Blog Challenge.

Day 1- Introduce, Recent Picture & 15 Interesting Facts

Introduce

My name is Jessie. I am a 27 and 11/12 years old, I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and many other things. I try not to let traditional boundaries define who I am or what I can do in life. One thing I am most proud of in my life is being the first person to graduate with a college degree in my family. I received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Communication with a minor in Sociology and an emphases in Public Relations from Emporia State University in May of 2005 and I received a Mater of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Central Missouri in May of 2007. I worked my butt of and I am very proud of both of those accomplishments. I know a piece of paper or a degree doesn't make you smart or a better person than others but it makes me feel good about myself and that is something to be proud of in life. I was born and raised in Kansas, actually I lived in the same bedroom from the time I was one until I moved out at 18! Who does that! My now husband and I moved to Iowa in June of 2007 for my job at the University of Northern Iowa. We are adapting to life in Iowa, the summers are AMAZING however the winters leave something to be desired!

Recent Picture

This picture was taken on October 2, 2010 at UNI's Family Weekend. I am usually the one taking the pictures so there are not very many pictures of Kinley and I but Jason happened to catch this awesome picture!

15 Interesting Facts About me

1. I LOVE DOGS! Seriously like it is my job! If it were up to me we would be foster parents for dogs, my husband says this is a very bad idea because we would end up adopting all of them.
2. I hate that my name is one thing and I go by something else. My parents have called me Jessie since the day I was born but they wanted to give me "options" so therefore they named me Jessica. I would legally change my name to Jessie if I didn't feel that if I did it would disappoint my parents.

3. One of my biggest fears in life is disappointing people, especially my parents. I have always been a "good kid" because I was afraid I would do something to damage my parents reputation or disappoint them.

4. I just changed go the new HTC EVO by Sprint and daily I miss my blackberry! Especially BBM!

5.I am addicted to Diet Coke! Like no joke, have to have it EVERY DAY! I drink at least two 32 oz Diet Coke's a day...really!

6. My favorite author is Emily Giffin. I get so engrossed in her books that I actually day dream about what happens to the characters after I finish the book.

7. I never see movies that are based on books. Books are so much better and I feel that movies ruin what books create.

8. I was not sure I wanted to be a mom but now I can't imagine life not being a mom. Most little girls dream of the day they can have a baby, me I was so scared I would screw something up! I am also a worrier so I though I want to be a good mom but keep my kids safe and I couldn't imagine those two worlds colliding.

9. All food is made for dipping. If I eat something and don't dip it in some condiment then the food feels naked to me. My all time favorite is Ranch but a close second is BBQ sauce.

10. I have 20/20 vision but wear glasses when reading and working on the computer. Apparently my eyes don't focus fast enough so therefore by wearing glasses the doctors say it will help me feel like I can see better.

11. I have a hard time being a follower. I don't like to classify myself as a leader however when others are in chare I am very critical of them and expect the best.
12. I'm not very good at being on time. I try my hardest but it just doesn't ever seem to work out! I even set all my clocks ahead but then I just put the time back to the normal time in my head.

13. I love music but hate live music. As part of my current job and in prevous postions at ESU and UCM I have had the change to plan large scale concert and I love the planning but hate the actual concerts. My Pandora expires usually by the 10th of every month but I refuse to pay the $0.99 to have unlimited for the rest of the month so I then switch to my ipod, groveshark or good ole CD's.
14. I have a passion for photography but I know nothing about it. I have always wanted to take a class to learn more and see if I have any talent but I am afraid to pursue photography because if I am not any good I might be turned off by it.
15. I do not have any regrets in life. I feel that everything happens for a reason and if I were to go back and change anything then my life would be totally different than it is at this moment.

Thanks Amy for posting this to your blog and I look forward keeping up for the next 30 days!
